Chinese Northern Wei Brick with Painted Buddha Seated
Northern Wei Dynasty, 386-534 A.D. Rectangular with ogee recess; Buddha in high relief seated on a dais, right hand held in Abhaya mudra; nimbus behind the head; various pigments survive. 3.83 kg, 33 x 16.5 cm (13 x 6 1/2 in.).
Ex Hong Kong collection, 1970-1990s.
