MACEDON. Kingdom of Macedon. Alexander III (the Great), 336-323 B.C. AV Stater (8.55 gms), Lampsakos Mint, ca. 328/5-323 B.C. NGC Ch EF, Strike: 4/5 Surface: 3/5. Brushed.
Pr-1358. Lifetime issue. Obverse: Helmeted head of Athena right; Reverse: Nike standing left, holding wreath and stylis; conjoined horse foreparts in left field, monogram below left wing. Fairly well centered and lightly toned, this wholesome specimen retains excellent detail and offers some hints of brilliance accentuating the devices.
