MACEDON. Under the Romans. Aesillas, Quaestor ca. 95-65 B.C. AR Tetradrachm (15.56 gms), Uncertain Mint. NGC MS, Strike: 4/5 Surface: 3/5.
HGC-3.1, 1110; SNG Cop-1328. Obverse: Head of the deified Alexander the Great right; Reverse: Money chest, club, and chair within wreath. A bright and lustrous example. The obverse struck slightly off-center and from worn dies, but the reverse is quite sharp and attractive. A lovely piece with impressive originality.
