ITALY. Calabria. Tarentum. AR Didrachm (Nomos) (6.36 gms), ca. 280-272 B.C. NGC AU, Strike: 4/5 Surface: 4/5. Flan Flaw.

HGC-1, 887; Vlasto-789-91; HN Italy-1013. Obverse: Warrior, holding shield and two spears, on horse rearing left; Z[Ω] to right, AΠOΛΛΩ below; Reverse: Phalanthos, holding grape bunch and distaff, riding dolphin left; A[NΘ] to right. This toned beauty is well struck on a flan that retains charm despite a flaw. Nice luster and light sunburst toning are present across the surfaces.
