Massachusetts Cent
1788 Massachusetts Cent. Ryder 8-C, W-6260. Rarity-3. Period After MASSACHUSETTS. VF-30 (PCGS).
152.2 grains. Streaks of olive-gray enhance a base of golden-brown on both sides of this generally smooth, overall satiny example. A few tiny nicks on the obverse are noted, as is an area of trivial roughness at the upper reverse border. The design is fully appreciable, the eagle retaining the most sharpness of detail on either side. Pleasing mid grade quality for a die pairing that, like so many others of the 1788 Massachusetts cent, is seldom offered any finer than EF.
PCGS# 948. NGC ID: 2B27.
