Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Drachm (Silver, 17mm, 4.28 g 2), Miletos, c. 325-323. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion’s skin headdress. Rev. ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ Zeus seated on backless throne to left, holding eagle in his right hand and scepter in his left; to left, monogram of ΔΗ. Price 2090. A virtually perfect piece, well-struck in high relief and well-centered. Good extremely fine. From an American collection.
