KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Drachm (Silver, 17 mm, 4.26 g, 3 h), Mylasa or Kaunos, circa 300-280. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion's skin headdress. Rev. ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and, in his right, eagle standing right with closed wings; to left, labrys between Δ-Ι. Price 2076. Thompson 18. An attractive piece struck on a broad flan. About extremely fine.
