Description

SICILY. Entella. Punic issues, circa 320-315 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 25 mm, 17.18 g, 2 h). Head of Persephone to left, wearing wreath of wheat leaves, triple pendant earring and pearl necklace; around her head, four dolphins. Rev. 'MMHNT Horse's head to left; behind, date palm. Jenkins, Punic 186. (O55/R163, this coin unrecorded). Toned, well-centered, well-struck, and particularly attractive. Minor marks, otherwise, extremely fine.

From the collection of W. Belser, Zürich, prior to 1965, and that of his son, acquired in the early 1970s.
