A Crimean War and Indian Mutiny Group of 3 awarded to Private Frederick Wing, 2nd Battalion, Rifle Brigade, comprising: Crimea, 1854-56, single clasp, Sebastopol, unnamed as issued; Indian Mutiny, 1857-59, no clasp (Fredk Wing, 2nd Bn Rifle Bde); Turkish Crimea, 1855-56, Sardinian Issue, with crude replacement suspension ring, very lightly engraved in part (…Scanland), a replacement; Group swing-mounted, toned, the first with edge bruise, the second with a trace of old lacquer to reverse, the last with traces of adhesive to obverse; nearly very fine (3). Private Frederick Wing is confirmed on the Indian Mutiny Medal Roll with entitlement as above, and further roll comments state that he was ‘at Cawnpore, November 1857. Died 23 January 1858’. His service in the Crimea is currently unconfirmed.
