Description

Bavaria. Ludwig I "Order of Merit" Taler 1837 MS65 NGC, Munich mint, KM790, Dav-580, AKS-139, Thun-72. Commemorating the Order of St. Michael as the Order of Merit. Exceptionally appealing and deeply patinated, with a quick tilt from end to end unleashing an essentially Prooflike luster over the surfaces. One of a mere 5 examples that NGC records having certified in this peak grade, we would note that the last MS65 we handled brought $2160 in our January 2020 NYINC sale. From the Cape Coral Collection of German Coins, Part I
