Description

Bavaria. Ludwig I "Otto Chapel" Taler 1836 MS65 NGC, Munich mint, KM786, Dav-579, AKS-138, Thun-71. Struck to commemorate the construction of Otto Chapel at Kiefersfelden upon Ludwig's son, Otto's departure as King of Greece. An intriguing issue in the series of thematic commemorative Talers which, despite a light haze that obscures what would otherwise be a generous brilliant surface, endures as the finest of the type. A coveted example that will undoubtedly pique the interest of conditionally conscious collectors. From the Cape Coral Collection of German Coins, Part I
