Description

Bavaria. Karl Albrecht Taler 1743 MS63 NGC, Munich mint, KM464, Dav-1947, Schön-73, Wittelsbach-1964, Hahn-277. A particularly sought-after single-year type, especially so when located this fine. Struck after the election of Karl VII as Holy Roman Emperor, a title that would last mere years before defeat to Maria Theresa in 1745. Of superior quality and struck with exacting precision, rendering each engraved detail fully embossed upon the battleship-gray expanses, boasting an exceptionally fine and reflective reverse. Of the four representatives currently certified, the example at hand remains tied for the finest, and thus makes for a finer candidate for further consideration. Ex. Stack's (March 2006, Lot 992) From the Cape Coral Collection of German Coins, Part I
