Hsüan-t'ung Dollar Year 3 (1911) MS64 PCGS, Tientsin mint, KM-Y31, L&M-37, Kann-227, WS-0046B. No period, no extra flame variety. Few can claim to match the aesthetic and conditional quality seen on this highly popular single-year type. Cascading satiny resplendence sweeps across the fields, remaining especially vibrant to the reverse (obverse as holdered), showcasing pastel hues reminiscent of a sunset tonality. While we occasionally handle examples in comparable grades, seemingly garnering more and more interest with every inclusion, the present example is clearly an outlier, with only the occasional contact mark precluding a finer designation. Blessed with an advanced eye appeal and ample originality, it is clear this representative is a great rarity when located this fine and problem-free.
