Description

Hsüan-t'ung Dollar Year 3 (1911) MS64 PCGS, Tientsin mint, KM-Y31, L&M-37, Kann-227, Chang-CH32. No period, extra flame variety. An absolutely brilliant example of this prolific type, seemingly popular in any state of preservation, let alone at the very cusp of Gem Mint State. Unusually watery surfaces abound this satiny specimen, decorated in ample die polish and general frostiness, highlighting decidedly crisp features rising in clear contrast against a largely untoned, flashy argent canvas beneath. With the considerable population drop-off when surpassing choice levels of certification, this opportunity will doubtlessly be met with strong bidder enthusiasm.
