Description

Hsüan-t'ung Dollar Year 3 (1911) MS62 NGC, Tientsin mint, KM-Y31, L&M-37, Kann-227, Chang-CH32. No period, extra flame variety. A type which benefits enormously from Mint State preservation, permitting a full appreciation of its trademark details in all their original splendor. So often a low-grade survivor from the end of the Qing period, the present coin flies in the face of what is "normal" for the issue, instead beaming with satin-white full cartwheel luster, which picks up on numerous glints of light as it traverses numerous die polish lines in the open fields. Significantly challenging to locate much finer, and a fully enviable type coin.
