Byzantine lead seal of Theodore officer
(7th cent.)
Obverse: Bust of the Mother of God, facial, nimbate, wearing chiton and maphorion (early iconographic type of "Nikopoios"), with Jesus Christ as infant in medallion on her chest, wreath border.
Reverse: Inscription in 3 lines, +ΘΕ/ΟΔΩΡ/ΟV = + Θεοδώρου (of Theodoros, the owner of the seal), wreath border.
Condition: Very Fine
Weight: 10,8 gram
Diameter: 19,4 mm
