Byzantine lead seal of Moses patrikios,
with the rare depiction of prophet Moses
(ca 11th cent.)
Obverse: Bust of prophet Moses, facial, nimbate, wearing chiton, holding the book of Pentateuch, sigla Ο/ΠΡ/Φ-Μ[ΟΥ]/[CHC] (Saint prophet Moses), dotted border.
Reverse: Inscription in 4 lines, ΟΜΩΝ/ΥΜΟΝC•/[Ο]ΝΜΟΥC/ΗΠΡΚ•= Ὁμώνυμον σὸν Μουσῆ πατρίκιον (Oh [prophet Moses protect me] the patrikios that I bear your name), dotted border.
It's to note that the inscription in reverse consists an eleven-syllable iambic verse. The present seal is a parallel and of the same boulloterion of lots Nos. 635, 637 and 638.
