A nice bilingual byzantine lead seal
of Maximus officer (6th cent.)
Obverse: Cruciform monogram, resolved with certainty as ΜΑΞΙΜΟΥ (Of Maximus, the owner of the seal), wreath border.
Reverse: Inscription in 3 lines in latin script, ma/xim/u (of Maximus, the owner of the seal), wreath border.
Condition: Very Fine
Weight: 8,2 gram
Diameter: 23,5 mm
