Ancient Byzantine Coins - Maurice Tiberius - Gold Angel Solidus
582-602 AD. Constantinople mint. Obv: D N MAVR TIB PP AVG legend with draped and cuirassed bust facing wearing plumed helmet holding globus cruciger. Rev: VICTORIA AVGG I legend with angel standing facing holding Chi-Rho headed sceptre and globus cruciger; mintmark CONOB in exergue. BMC 2-3, etc.; MIB 6; Sear 478. 4.46 grams. .
