Description
Roman Offering Palette
1st century BC-1st century AD. A carved fossiliferous limestone offering bowl with discoid base, hemispherical body and square rim with raised centre panel. 94 grams, 55mm (2 1/4"). Property of a Richmond gentleman; part of his family collection formed before 1980; thence by descent. Dr Bonewitz notes: 'Very unusual material.'
Fine condition, some restoration.
