Romano-Egyptian Glass Head Collection
Roman Period, 30 B.C.-323 A.D.. Three glass faces including a lion head and two male portrait heads. Cf. Andrews, C., Amulets of Ancient Egypt, London, 1994, fig.15.
61 grams total, 32-36 mm (1 1/4 - 1 3/8 in.).
Acquired 1970s-1996.Property of a North American collector.London collection, 2016. These appear to have been blown or pressed when semi-molten into a hollowed reverse-shaped mould form. [3, No Reserve]
