Description

Egyptian Bronze Ring with Hyksos Scarab
2nd Intermediate Period, 15th Dynasty, Hyksos, 1648-1540 B.C. Round-section bronze shank with attachment wires retaining a glazed composition scarab with three columns of hieroglyphs with a rope border. Cf. Chadour, A.B., Rings. The Alice and Louis Koch Collection, volume I, Leeds, 1994, item 2, for type.
9.41 grams, 37 mm wide (1 1/2 in.).
From the private collection of the late Mr S.M., London, UK, 1969-1999; thence by descent.
