Viking Age Gold Beast-Headed Pendant
Circa 9th century A.D. Hollow-formed, displaying a stylised beast head in relief; pierced through one terminal for suspension and with a flattened suspension loop to reverse. Cf. Chaban-Delmas, J. (ed.), L'Or des Vikings, Bordeaux, 1969, pl.15, for type.0.28 grams, 14 mm (1/2 in.). Acquired 1970-2010. Collection of a late Japanese gentleman.[No Reserve]
