Caria - Kaunos - AR Stater. 430-410 B.C. Obv: winged Iris in kneeling-running stance left, looking right, holding caduceus and wreath. Rev: conical baetyl, with handles at the apex between two bunches of grapes; inverted Delta (Carian K) in upper centre, all within incuse square. SNG Kayhan 791; SNG Keckman 824; HNO Caria 69; Konuk 95. 11.44 grams. Acquired on the UK art market. Property of an Essex gentleman.
