Yoruba Standing Female Figure. 19th century A.D. A Yoruba Tribe standing female figure carved in wood, nude except for the remnant of a rough weave skirt and top, her hair dressed in an elaborate style; Nigeria. 2.65 kg, 1 m high (39 1/4 in.) From an old Exeter ethnographical collection, Devon, UK. The timber shows some old insect flight holes and we are advised that this piece has been recently treated with Permthrin, as a precaution. [No Reserve]
Fine condition; some old woodworm holes showing.
