Viking Age Twisted Penannular Brooch. 9th-12th century A.D. A penannular brooch formed with a twisted wire body and flattened, sub-circular terminals; free-running pin formed with a round-section body and coiled loop. 25.7 grams, 78 mm (3 in.) Acquired on the UK art market, 2000s. Property of an Essex gentleman. [No Reserve]
