Germanic Plaque with Figures. 6th-9th century A.D. A bronze rectangular plaque with stylised standing figures, the larger central figure facing and holding a sceptre(?) in each hand, the flanking figures presented in profile with their hands raised in the act of worshipping. 47.2 grams, 41 mm (1 3/4 in.) Property of a Dutch collector; acquired on the European art market between 1975-2000.
