ROMAN EMPIRE: Vespasian, 69-79 AD, AE sestertius (25.92g), RIC-165, Cohen-238, Hendin-773, struck AD 71, IMP CAES VESPASIAN AVG PM TR P P P COS III, laureate head right // IVDAEA CAPTA, palm tree, on left Judaea seated left on cuirass in attitude of mourning, to right captive standing left with hands bound behind his back, arms scattered around, S C in exergue, old tooling in fields, VF. From an old Collection, purchased by the collector in the 1960s with his tag.
