43.2 mm. A fine portrait medal struck to mark Clay's death, with a reverse by George H. Lovett proclaiming "EVERY END HE AIMED AT, WAS HIS COUNTRY'S." Bright and deeply reflective with only trivial marks. Several fine spidery die cracks emerge from Clay's high relief portrait. This obverse was previously used on Dewitt HC 1844-4 during the 1844 election.
