JAPAN. Great Imperial Bank of Japan. 5 Yen, ND (1878). P-21. PMG Very Fine 25.
Ibaraki branch. A wholesome example of the scarce 5 Yen from the 1877 series issued for over 150 different national banks. This example with strong paper quality for the type, bright colors and a strong visual appearance. Nicer paper quality than most examples of this type, which were first introduced into circulation in December of 1877 and unlike the previous series (printed in the United States) these were printed entirely in Japan.
