ESTONIA. Eesti Vabariigi. 10,000 Marka, 1.7.1920. P-38Ds. Specimen. PMG Choice About Uncirculated 58 EPQ.
Series A. The highest denomination of this first series, payable for 4 1/2 % interest, which would eventually circulate as currency as Estonia struggled economically the first few years after the establishment of the Estonian Marka after World War I. This specimen complete with counterfoil at left, which would be retained upon issuance. The sole graded specimen of this variety in the PMG population report, and surely missing from even the most advanced collections. Uniface, overprinted "PROOV" on the front in red. An incredible item of historical significance and certainly of interest to advanced specialists of Baltic paper money. PMG Comments "Counterfoil Included."
From the Al Kugel Collection.
