1787 Connecticut Copper. Miller 50-F, W-4330. Rarity-6-. Draped Bust Left, CONNLC. VG-10 (PCGS).
114.8 grains. Mottled light olive brown with a bit of granularity in some of the recesses and other light roughness that seems to be more related to the weak strike and planchet texture than any type of degradation. Struck on a lightweight flan that certainly contributed to the weakness. Minor natural flaws on both sides. Centered slightly high on the obverse, low and left on the reverse. From a later die state with obvious cracks spidering through the left obverse field and a larger one behind the effigy's head that seems to have caused some bulging beneath it. Despite the weakness, the prominent break through the lower effigy is also plainly visible.
PCGS# 687384.
