Wondrous Near-Mint Cob 8 Escudos with Great Flair
PERU. Cob 8 Escudos, 1747-L V. Lima Mint. Ferdinand VI. PCGS AU-58.
Fr-12; KM-47; Cal-756. Weight: 26.85 gms. A stunning and alluring example from the first year of issue for Ferdinand VI, this handsome example presents great character on the central devices of each side, with not only a clear date, but even refinement within the manes of the two lions rampant. Some of the peripheral legends are evident as well, such as the boldly incised name of the monarch. Meanwhile, some deep tinges of golden-red further accent the devices, off-setting them and allowing for charming contrast.
