1861 Soldier Portrait / All-Seeing Eye. Fuld-147/228 f, DeWitt-C 1861-7. Rarity-9. Silver. Plain Edge. MS-61 (PCGS).
31 mm. Rich steely-charcoal obverse toning gives way to vivid charcoal-olive, champagne-gold, pink and cobalt blue iridescence on the more lively reverse. Both sides are boldly struck, muting to the finish on the obverse explaining the BU grade from PCGS. A popular type, scarce in an absolute sense, and rarer in silver than the more frequently encountered copper.
From the Windy City Collection. Earlier ex Albert Jakira, December 16, 1989.
