1739 Admiral Vernon Medal. Porto Bello with Vernon's Portrait and Icons. Adams-Chao PBvi 11-P, M-G 104. Rarity-6. Pinchbeck. MS-63 (PCGS).
38.35 mm. Exceptional quality for the type, both sides are lustrous and frosty with plenty of bright, original, brassy-gold color remaining. Light to moderate copper-gray patina is generally confined to the peripheries, although it encroaches upon the central reverse at left. Fully struck and crisp, this is as inviting an example of this Adams-Chao number that one is likely to find.
