This extremely rare piece is one of only three examples on the PMG census. It was printed by the British American Bank Note Company in Montreal. The Charlton Book lists this note in Fine condition with a value of $11,000 which may prove to be conservative as we have yet to offer an example of this type. This variety has a plate printed date, a manuscript signature at left, and Cowan's signature at right. At left, a vignette of W.F. Cowan is seen with a female operating telegraphic equipment pictured at center. PMG notes a restoration in the comments section, however, the detail throughout the note remains mostly full and exceptional throughout given the age and scarcity of the piece itself.
