KM-29 (for denomination); Gomes-L1.21.06. Issued by decree of 31 March 1887. Countermark: Small crown above GP within circular incuse. Applied to the obverse of a 1782-Mo FF Mexico bust 8 Reales of Charles III (KM-106.2). Beautifully preserved and very attractive, this handsome example displays lovely rich envelope patina with a slight iridescent sheen and plenty remaining luster. The countermark is boldly applied and crisp on a nicely preserved high grade host. Pleasing to the eye and wholesome looking, this piece presents better than most examples encountered from this series and offers much originality.
