COSTA RICA. Banco Nacional de Costa Rica. 20 Colones, 1938. P-192a. PMG Very Fine 20.
A run of 10,000 Serie D notes were issued on March 2, 1938, for this overprint variation on P-176, S/N C 300761. The front shows sugar cane harvest at the center along with a black overprint "Banco Nacional de Costa Rica, Departmento Emisor." The back shows a guilloche design with a bust of Liberty at the center. Only 7 examples graded by PMG.
