COSTA RICA. Banco Nacional de Costa Rica. 1 Colon, 1943. P-190. PMG About Uncirculated 55 EPQ.
A run of 200,000 Serie C notes were issued on June 23, 1943, for this red overprint variation on P-166, S/N C 169341. The front shows allegoric woman at the center while denomination counters are flanking each side with a colorful guilloche design. Red overprint "Banco Nacional de Costa Rica, Departmento Emisor." The back shows a bust of Liberty at the center with the denomination on each side.
