"185X" (1853) Braided Hair Cent. N-10. Rarity-1. Struck 25% Off Center. VF-30 (PCGS).
The impression is off center at 5:30, the lower right obverse and upper right reverse peripheral areas off the planchet, including most of the digit 3 in the date. Its top is barely visible and unidentifiable, but enough of the fine die lines on Liberty's portrait are discernible under magnification to confirm the 1853 N-10 attribution. Dark steely-copper surfaces are microporous with glints of warmer deep rose color. Only a few wispy marks are noted, most prominently on the arc of virgin planchet along the lower left reverse.
