Description
1849 Braided Hair Cent. N-22, 6. Rarity-1. MS-65 BN (PCGS).
A hard, deep olive-copper example with faded mint rose color through the central reverse. The focal features and borders are crisply impressed and sharp, surfaces hard and glossy with semi-reflective tendencies in the fields. This is the later state of the obverse, and Newcomb's N-6 state. The reverse is also from a late die state with most lines worn away or lost through lapping, some light roughness around the periphery.
