1793 Flowing Hair Cent. Wreath Reverse. S-11C. Rarity-3-. Lettered Edge. VG Details--Environmental Damage (NGC).
A representative example of this one year only type from the first year of operations at the Philadelphia mint. This coin circulated extensively before being lost in the ground. The surfaces show the telltale granularity and porosity of a ground find coin. While there is peripheral weakness, Liberty's portrait is bold. Always a popular issue, regardless of grade.
