Description

T-37. Confederate Currency. 1861 $5. PMG About Uncirculated 53 EPQ.
PF-1, Cr. 284. No. 13916. Plate B. Imprint of Blanton Duncan Richmond. Seen with three wide margins and a tight but above average fourth margin. Type 37 is a very difficult note to locate in grades above Very Fine. Notes that grade About Uncirculated and better are extremely difficult to locate. The note offered here is an exceptional example boasting bright paper and bold inks. With the exception of one lovely uncirculated example, there is nothing better than Choice AU 55 at either service. This note also earned the coveted EPQ qualifier from the grading service attesting to the note's superior quality. This is just about the nicest example we have sold. The Newman note graded PCGS Choice About New 55 PPQ for over $2,500.

Estimate: $1500.00- $2500.00
