(MA-735 G32) American Bank Note Company. India paper only. Black end panels with brilliant red denomination microlettering and lathework at center. Die counter at top left with large D surrounded by FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS. Portrait at bottom left cut out. Red frame around black bank title at top center. Red panel bottom left of center with white 500 Dolls. 500 die counter at top right with excellent eagle vignette below. A visually striking ABNC color proof from this rare Lowell bank. This is the nicest of the two proofs we are aware of. The other, had the lower left vignette cut out completely. Vibrantly colored and artistically pleasing. PMG comments "Minor Repairs".
