Description

Tallahassee, Florida. Territory of Florida. 1830 $3. PMG Choice Uncirculated 63.
(Cr. T10, Benice 8). No. 4. June 3, 1830. Imprint of N. & S.S. Jocelyn New Haven Conn. Portrait of Washington at top center. Lady Justice seen at left end. Fully issued and dated. Signed by Davis Floyd with verso countersigned by state auditor Carey. This note bore 6% interest and was receivable for all dues to the state. The paper on the few notes seen from this series is always subtly toned, which PMG throws under the aegis of being "Previously Mounted." The Newman note sold for $8,225 in very similar condition. We first sold this same note for $6,325 a dozen years ago in our ANA sale. An excellent representative from this important Florida series.

Estimate: $3000.00- $6000.00
