Description

CC-91. Continental Currency. January 14, 1779. $5. PMG Gem Uncirculated 65 EPQ.
No. 77120. Signed by R. Caither and D. Wister. Printed by Hall and Sellers, 1779. Bright and vibrant red ink at left and in a diamond shape over the "hand and thorn" emblem, causing some to humorously refer to these issues as "kite-faced bills." Beautifully and evenly inked showing full and nearly perfect detail on both front and back. Uncirculated notes from this issue are very tough, with PMG having graded only three in total - one other 65 EPQ and a 63. PMG Pop 2/None Finer.
From the Mid-Continent Collection.

Estimate: $2000.00- $3000.00
