JUDAEA. Bar Kochba Revolt, 132-135 C.E. AR Zuz, Jerusalem Mint, Undated issue, attributed to Year 3 (134/5 C.E.). NGC AU, Strike: 3/5 Surface: 4/5. Overstruck.
Mildenberg-157 (O11/R77); Hendin-1433; Mesheror-285. Grape bunch on vine tendril; "Shim'on'" (in Hebrew) around; Reverse: Flagon with handle; palm frond to right, "for the freedom of Israel" (in Hebrew) around. Overstruck on a Denarius of Nero, this specimen displays a large portion of the undertype in areas and features a gunmetal gray and olive tone sprinkled throughout.
