1856 Flying Eagle Cent. Snow-9. Proof. AU Details--Environmental Damage (PCGS).
Deep toning in tobacco-brown and olive-copper explains the PCGS qualifier, but we note only minimal roughness to the texture even upon close examination with a loupe. As well, both sides retain plenty of razor sharp to full striking detail to allow full appreciation of this classic design. This piece has a rich antique appearance that is rather pleasing to the eye and, when further consideration is given to the aforementioned striking detail, it is a visually appealing and desirable example of this historic small cent issue.
