1855 Braided Hair Cent. N-4. Rarity-1. Upright 5s. MS-64 RB (PCGS). CAC. OGH.
A lovely Choice Uncirculated example of this popular variety, a mainstay of Mint State type sets thanks to the discovery of a large hoard. Much deep rose-red mint color remains to surfaces that also sport pleasant toning in iridescent steel-brown. Hard and satiny in texture with just a trace of light carbon precluding a Gem grade.
