1837 Modified Matron Head Cent. N-1. Rarity-3. Plain Cords, Medium Letters. MS-65 BN (NGC). CAC.
Accents of steel-blue surround some design elements of this otherwise rose-brown example. Nicely centered and sharp across the focal elements, while the peripheries exhibit fatigue associated with Noyes Die State C/D. This is the finest certified 1837 N-1 cent that we recall offering, and as a solid Gem with abundant eye appeal, it comes highly recommended for an advanced numismatic cabinet.
